Gay Marriage
What does marriage have to do with conceiving children?
First of all, how many couples do you know on their second/third or more marriage? Do children result from every marriage? 80 year-olds get married, and they can see each other in the hospital and have the right of inheritance. But they seldom have children. Should only people who are planning children be allowed to get married?
What will we do with people who decide to have children out of wedlock? As you know, many people come out after they have had children. So, if they've had a first marriage, and do not plan to have any more children, they can marry the other sex but not the same sex, although what is the difference in terms of love and devotion?
And what about health insurance? A man that marries umpteen times can offer each of his wives, no matter how poor the marriage on an emotional level, all the family benefits of his employment.
Why don't we just get federal government out of marriage altogether? Marriage is a religious institution. For legal purposes why doesn't the Federal government have domestic partnership contracts for everyone? All these hypocrits talking about the sanctity of marriage make me ill. Newt Gingrich is on his third, isn't he? Hasn't he twice married women that he committed adultery with? And how about Rush Limbaugh? Three marriages, no children. Brit Spears' first marriage lasted 55 hours.
It's bigotry, plain and simple.
